Ce groupe a vocation à étudier les propositions de la Commission concernant une nouvelle loi européenne sur la liberté des médias. Il réunit des membres de plusieurs autres groupes, chargés respectivement du financement et de la gouvernance des médias de service public ainsi que de la réglementation des contenus.
