AIDI Spotlight on SVT's AI work
AIDI Spotlights are Members-only sync calls, in which each month a Member organization is put under the spotlight.
In this event, Swedish public service broadcaster SVT invites us to discover their work with AI and data.
SVT's AI Vision states: “We use AI tools to create value for our audience and to be more effective in our work.” Over the past year, SVT has adopted a company-wide approach to AI, with a cross-organizational AI Council establishing enabling structures and the development of an SVT GPT accessible to all employees. Now, with decentralized AI Hubs for both TV Programs and News and a new Head of AI, SVT is taking the next step to ensure everyone at SVT can explore how AI tools can enhance our public service offerings.
By adopting a responsible approach, SVT recognizes that AI is a disruptive technology with both opportunities and challenges. While experimenting with cutting-edge technology, they are mindful of the challenges regarding data security, climate impact, and the uncertainties many people feel around new technologies. Prioritizing their public service mission, SVT encourages the use of AI to enhance journalism, verify facts, and push creative boundaries in TV shows.
Erik Paulsson Neppelberg, Head of AI, along with AI Hub Superusers and Digital Product Owners, will discuss SVT's strategic approach to AI, plans for the autumn, and showcase use cases featuring AI-powered solutions that have already reached the audience, strategic collaborations around AI, the SVT GPT, and recent AI experiments.
