Back from the Brink consists in a two-hour documentary which celebrates conservation ‘heroes’ in Europe, the people and organisations that are bringing animal species ‘Back from the Brink’, demonstrating how smart human intervention can make a difference in the natural world.
The project aims at celebrating individuals and groups giving conservation a face, creating human heroes. It also shows how local populations have changed their attitudes about the species being reintroduced and show how education played a key role in the conservation project.
The films are made out of the several stories coming from the committed EBU Members broadcasters, all being linked up and trimmed with additional footage, opening titles and maps. Out of its participation, each country gets a ‘kit’ to create its own language version, adapted for its local market; Each broadcaster having a final editorial control over its version of the show.
