First held in 2003, the Svetozár Stračina Grand Prix Competition is an international biennial competition open to folk music recordings entered and produced by EBU Members and Associates.
The aim of the Competition is to promote the creation of traditional and arranged folk music recordings and stimulate international exchanges of folk music. It is organized every two years by Radio and Television Slovakia (RTVS).
In spite of these challenging times, the 10th Svetozár Stračina Grand Prix, an international competition of folk music recordings, was able to take place from 16 to 18 March 2021, featuring 40 competing entries from 13 different countries.
More information is available on the festival's official website.
The results (winner and additional prize holders) were officially announced at the closing Gala Concert in the Slovak Radio Large Concert Studio in Bratislava on 12 May 2021.
