Prix Ex Aequo

The Prix Ex Aequo is an international children's and youth radio drama festival organized every two years by Radio and Television Slovakia in cooperation with the EBU.

The aims of the Prix Ex Aequo Festival are to promote:

• the creation of radio drama works for children and youth
• the international exchange of radio drama works for children and youth (productions, texts, artists)
• the international exchange of theoretical and technical expertise in the creation of radio drama works for children and youth. 

In 2022, the Prix Ex Aequo was held from 8 to 11 November.  

The winners were officially announced in a dedicated live radio transmission on RTVS, Radio Devin channel, on 11 November 2022, as follows:

Category 1: Radio Fairy Tale for Children

• Best radio fairy tale for children: The Mirror in the Schoolyard, produced by Ylesradio, Finland
• Exceptional execution of radio fairy tale for children: Nicky Coghlan, author, producer, dramaturge, director, sound engineer and actor of The Emperor's New Duds, produced by RTÉ, Ireland.

Category 2: Radio Play for Youth

• Best radio play for youth: Ily, produced by Swedish Radio, Sweden
• Exceptional execution of radio play for youth: Carol Walsh, author and dramaturge of Cereal, produced by RTÉ, Ireland.
